I don't know where the year has gone and can't quite believe we are now in September which means we have officially said goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring!
Goodbye Winter and to rainy days and cold nights spent inside keeping dry and warm by the heater, slow cooked comfort food and endless pots of soup on the stove, wearing uggies, boots and scarves, squeaky windscreen wipers on the car, and trying to dry clothes by hanging them up all around the house!
Hello Spring and the warm sunshine making an appearance again, the garden comes alive with flowers and the herbs are sprouting, more fresh seasonal foods and salads on the menu at home, the layers of clothing slowly come off, more walking and less driving, more entertaining at home and things to do outdoors.
I'd have to say that Spring is my favourite season of year!

I was talking to the kids about this at lunch yesterday, what are favorite seasons are... and, I just couldn't decide which was my favorite. I love the fall, but the anticipation for winter sort of ruins it for me. I know that sounds silly, but after last winter (and all the snow and my anxiety of driving in it!), I am REALLY dreading winter this year! I love Spring for all of the flowers blooming (I love gardening) and Summer is always awesome for days with no homework and VACATIONS! It is so funny, sometimes I forget you are on completely opposite seasons then us here! lol!
ReplyDeleteI like the change of seasons but half way through Im always keen for the next season to start! It is really strange that we are on opposite seasons to one another :)
DeleteWell certainly yesterday was gorgeous spring weather here in Sydney but today and for most of the week it's feeling like a dismal winters day...at the moment spring is my favourite because it's been cold :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Rae!
DeleteI love your quotes. It is funny to hear someone talking about spring, as we are just approaching fall. I forget that others have different season timing.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading other posts!!
I know opposite ends of the globe we are! Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteLol - I hang the clothes everywhere inside trying to get them dry too!!! It's such a nuisance - come summer they only need 30 mins in the sun hehee! xxx
