Slow Cooker Recipes - For All Seasons

I usually only use my Slow Cooker in the cooler months but as some of my overseas readers have pointed out on my latest recipe Slow Cooker Sausage Stroganoff, it's a good idea to put the Slow Cooker on in the warmer months too because then you don't need to put the oven on which heats up the house and the air conditioner has to work even harder to cool the house down!

There's no love going into a meal when you're all hot and sweaty and cooking in a humid kitchen!

So these recipes are for us Aussies now in Winter and seeking comfort food and for my awesome overseas readers in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom where it is heating up for Summer and you want to stay cool while cooking dinner.

I have a bowl full of fresh lemons at home so I'm going to try the Moroccan Chicken this weekend

Do you use your Slow Cooker in all Seasons?

  1. I've wanted a slow cooker for so long now, but afraid that it will be one of those appliances that I wont actually use....but seeing these gorgeous winter recipes has made me want one again..

    1. I know exactly what you mean, but this and my rice cooker are my most used appliances. Because the slow cooker has a timer and once it finishes cooking it automatically switches to keep warm, so I can put it on when I'm not home whereas I'd never leave the oven or stove top on unattended. Its handy for when your out and about or dont have time to be in the kitchen cooking. It pretty much cooks itself :)

  2. Yes, I do... just because it is so easy to put everything in it in the morning and then dinner is ready later! Now, I may not make chili in the summer, but pork chops or a baked pasta I am ok with. Thanks for these wonderful recipes!

    1. You are so right Carrie, it really helps on work days to not have to worry about cooking dinner when you get home. Im going to start being more organised and put mine on before work too, although that would mean getting out of bed earlier instead of hitting the snooze button! :)
